Day 1: Chennai
Begain Your Tour
Arrive into Chennai
Welcome to Vardman's "South India Festival Tour".
On arrival in Chennai, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's
representative to your hotel. Relax for some time. Later proceed
on a city tour of Chennai
Visit Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and the museum to
see the Art and Bronze Gallery. (Closed on Fridays and Public
holidays). High court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and
Snake Park..

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram - Mahabalipuram
This morning after breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram enroute
visit Kanchipuram.
Kanchipuram
Visit Kanchipuram Temples, Kailasanatha Temple and Vaikunda
Perumal Temple that exhibit a fine example of ancient architecture.
Cotinue drive to Mahabilipuram.
Upon arrival at Mahabalipuram check into your hotel. Relax for
some tme and later proceed on a city tour of Mahabalipuram.
The remaining Shore Temple is a World Heritage Monument , High
court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and Snake Park etc.

Day 3: Mahabalipuram -Pondicherry Tanjore
Early in the morning depart for Tanjore visiting enroute
Pondicherry.
Pondicherry - Although the French influence is gradually fading,
Pondicherry retains a few Gallic accents. Pondicherry's main
sights are the Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the
Sri Aurobindo Ashram.
On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.

Day 4: Tanjore - Trichy
This morning after breakfast proceed on a sightseeing
tour of Tanjore-The home of Carnatic music, musical instruments,
dance and traditional hadicrafts, Tanjore (Thanjavur) is famous
for the Brahadeeswarar Temple. The temple constructed more
than a thousand years ago by the Chola King Raja Rajan is
an architect's marvel.
Later in the afternoon drive to Trichy. On arrival, check
into your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.

Day 5: Trichy - Madurai
Early in the morning visit Rock Fort Temple. The Rock
Fort situated on the banks of the Kaveri river, Trichy's most
famed land mark is an 84 m high rock, one of the oldest in
the world aprox.3,800 million years. The attraction is not
for fort itself but the temple at the summit. 344 steps hewn
out of rock lead to the top where are the inscriptions dating
back to the 3rd century B.C.
Later in the afternoon drive to Madurai. Upon arrival, check-in
at the hotel.

Day 6: Madurai
On the day 6 of your tour proceed for a sightseeing tour
of Madurai. Madurai, known as Athens of the East, it is the
second largest city on the banks of the River Vigai. The city
believed to be more than 2500 yeras old. The city got its
name from the drops of nectar (Mathuram) that fell from Shiva's
locs when he came to bless its people for constructing a temple
for him. Madurai where the people wake up at the chant of
hymns is proud of magnificent 'The Meenakshi-Sundareswara
Temple.

Day 7: Madurai - Chennai
In time transfer to Madurai airport to catch flight for
Chennai to back home with pleasant memories of "South India
Festival Tour" escorted by Vardhman Vacations.
