Day 1: Arrive Chennai (Madras)
Begin Your Tour
Arrive into Chennai- "Gateway to the South"
Welcome to Vardman's "Tamilnadu Tour". On arrival
in Chennai, you will be met and transferred by Vardhman's representative
to your hotel. Relax for some time. Later proceed on a city
tour of Chennai
Visit Fort St. George, San Thome Cathedral and the museum to
see the Art and Bronze Gallery. (Closed on Fridays and Public
holidays). High court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and
Snake Park..

Day 2: Chennai - Kanchipuram- Mahabalipuram
This morning after breakfast proceed on a sightseeing
tour of Mahabalipuram. Enroute visit Kanchipuram.

Visit Kanchipuram Temples, Kailasanatha Temple and Vaikunda
Perumal Temple that exhibit a fine example of ancient architecture.
On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.
Day 3: Mahabalipuram
On the day 3 of your tour proceed on a city tour of Mahabalipuram.
The remaining Shore Temple is a World Heritage Monument ,
High court, Marina Beach, San Thome Cathedral and Snake Park
etc.

Day 4: Mahabalipuram - Pondicherry - Tanjore
Early in the morning depart for Tanjore visiting enroute
Pondicherry.
Pondicherry - Although the French influence is gradually fading,
Pondicherry retains a few Gallic accents. Pondicherry's main
sights are the Rai Nivas, the Sacred Heart Church and the
Sri Aurobindo Ashram.
On arrival, check into your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.

Day 5: Tanjore - Trichy
This morning after breakfast proceed on a sightseeing
tour of Tanjore-The home of Carnatic music, musical instruments,
dance and traditional hadicrafts, Tanjore (Thanjavur) is famous
for the Brahadeeswarar Temple. The temple constructed more
than a thousand years ago by the Chola King Raja Rajan is
an architect's marvel. Visit Srirangam and Rock Fort temple.
Later in the afternoon drive to Trichy. On arrival, check
into your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.

Day 6: Trichy - Madurai
Early in the morning visit Rock Fort Temple. The Rock
Fort situated on the banks of the Kaveri river, Trichy's most
famed land mark is an 84 m high rock, one of the oldest in
the world aprox.3,800 million years. The attraction is not
for fort itself but the temple at the summit. 344 steps hewn
out of rock lead to the top where are the inscriptions dating
back to the 3rd century B.C.
Later in the afternoon drive to Madurai. Upon arrival, check-in
at the hotel.
In the evening witness Temple ceremony at Meenakshi Temple.

Day 7: Madurai
On the day 7 of your tour proceed for a sightseeing tour
of Madurai. Madurai, known as Athens of the East, it is the
second largest city on the banks of the River Vigai. The city
believed to be more than 2500 yeras old. The city got its
name from the drops of nectar (Mathuram) that fell from Shiva's
locs when he came to bless its people for constructing a temple
for him. Madurai where the people wake up at the chant of
hymns is proud of magnificent 'The Meenakshi-Sundareswara
Temple.

Day 8: Madurai - Chennai
Morning at Leisure. Later in the evening transfer to Chennai
Egmore railway station to board overnight train for Kodaikanal.

Day 9: Kodaikanal - Periyar
Arrive Kodai Road Railway Station in the early hours.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to Periyar by our
representative to your hotel. Rest of the day free for leisure
activities. You can enjoy boating in the lake in the evening.
Visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctury. Later visit spice plantations
like cardamom, cinnamon, pepper, coffee, tea estates etc.
on your way back to the hotel, you could stop at the local
market and pick up some fragrant spices.

Day 10: Periyar - Kumarakom
This morning after drive to Kottayam/Kumarakom. On arrival,
check into your Houseboat. The overnight cruise takes you
through Kumarakom/Kottayam backwaters allowing you to enjoy
serene surroundings en route. Breakfast, lunch and dinner
served on board. Enjoy the backwaters of Kerala by getting
a glimpse of the village life from a close quarter. Enjoy
the sunset and stay overnight on the houseboat. It will definitely
be a unique and unforgettable experience for your lifetime.
Day 11: Kumarakom - Alleppey - Cochin
The houseboat comes to halt at Cochin. Disembark the houseboat
after breakfast and drive to Cochin. On arrival, check into
your hotel. Relax for rest of the day.

Day 12: Cochin
This morning after breakfast proceed on a city tour of
Cochin.
Visit many interesting sites like the Dutch Palace, Jewish
Synagogue, St. Francis Church and Chinese Fishing nets etc.
OPTIONAL: In the evening enjoy the Kathakali Dance performance.

Day 13: Cochin - Chennai - Departure
After breakfast transfer to Cochin airport to catch flight
for Chennai to back home with sweet and unforgettable memories
